JA Palm Tree Court, Dubai

So this place is an absolute gem. Don’t be worried by how isolated it appears on the journey in, it’s just 25 mins from the Dubai marina and lots of Ubers in close proximity. Something for everyone here, hold, tennis, gym, pools, water sports, horse riding, pools (so many pools), snooker, badminton, kids playgrounds and even cats and peacocks! The foods great, drinks are well made.. I just love it here. Fundamentally it’s the staff and the rooms that are the icing on the cake. Beds turned down daily, that’s missing from a lot of hotels these days.. The staff cannot do enough for you, they are truly wonderful. That made the stay effortless and frictionless. I will return here!

We arrived at JA Palm Resort in Dubai after a slightly daunting drive that felt more isolated than it really was (25 minutes from Dubai Marina, plenty of Ubers around once I got my bearings). Once I arrived, the place felt surprisingly relaxed and there’s something for everyone here: tennis courts, horse riding (proper horses, not nags), windsurfing and water sports, a gym that begged for a workout after too many hotel breakfasts, pools (I really lost count of how many), it made me feel like I’d slipped into a totally different world. Add to that snooker, badminton, kids’ playgrounds and even roaming cats and peacocks (I’m not sure what they thought of me, but they added a curious charm). I didn’t have time to try an activities, though I suspect repeat visits might be needed to tick off everything.

Meals felt like treats rather than obligations: the food was great (I tried a few dishes that balanced local flair with familiar comforts) and drinks arrived well made). Even on quieter days the vibe stayed lively enough: I saw families by the pool and colleagues chatting over smoothies, which made it all feel both relaxing and sociable.

What really stood out were the rooms and the people: my room was huge and felt like a calm retreat after a busy day at work (and the bed was turned down daily, a detail I hadn’t expected but wholly appreciated). The staff could not do enough for me: they anticipated needs I didn’t even know I had. That effortless, frictionless service made the stay feel indulgent without fuss.

So in summary, there are 4 outdoor pools, a palm tree-lined beach, a spa and a golf course, as well as a fitness centre, a kids’ club and numerous sports facilities. You will not get bored!

All told, I loved my time at JA Palm Resort: it felt like discovering a self-contained haven that never grew boring. The mix of activities, the surprising wildlife encounters, the solid food and drink, plus rooms that felt cared for and a team that genuinely seemed happy to help made it a memorable stay. I left thinking I would happily return whenever I needed a break from the usual Dubai buzz.
